My Wife Hates to cook

Bruce, wannabe chef.

My wife owned a fast food restaurant for many years and is burned out (pun?) with cooking. I started doing it a few nights of the week. I’m pretty sure it was the the relief of not having to do the cooking herself that caused her to compliment and encourage me to do more. It certainly wasn’t the meals themselves, though I have gotten considerably better. Now, I cook nearly all the time. As the saying goes, “If you want me to cook the meals, I get to buy the groceries.” I do that, too.

I have a small family, my wife, 92 year old mother-in-law and me. Our 2 dogs get the leftover vegetable scraps, mainly carrots and cabbage.

The pandemic has made the evening meal the highlight of our day. I do my best to make the meals live up to that expectation.
